Operated between 1939 and 1946 by Pan American Airways, the Boeing 314 Clipper was an innovative flying boat weighing over 40 tons and with a 152 ft / 46m wingspan. It had an astonishingly long range of 3,500 miles / 5,632 km, which allowed it to fly across the Atlantic or Pacific. Big, safe, and luxurious, the B-314 was the finest way to fly in its day.
