Choosing a bind-and-fly RC plane
Compare the exact model’s aircraft size, recommended experience, installed receiver and separately required equipment. This collection includes E-Flite and HobbyZone aircraft. BNF and BNF Basic package labels do not replace the model’s assembly, radio setup and preflight instructions.
Will my transmitter work with this plane?
Check the installed receiver’s protocol, the required radio channels and the manufacturer’s transmitter requirements for the exact model. A transmitter brand name alone does not establish compatibility. For example, the HobbyZone Carbon Cub S2 BNF Basic listing specifies a full-range, 6–7+ channel Spektrum DSMX/DSM2-compatible transmitter; that requirement should not be applied to every aircraft in the range.
What equipment is sold separately?
Read the included equipment and “Needed to Complete” sections on the individual listing. Confirm the flight battery specification, connector, compatible charger and transmitter requirements. Do not assume that every BNF package includes a battery or charger, or that equipment from another model will fit.
Can I fly immediately after binding?
Complete the assembly, transmitter setup, binding, control checks and balance checks specified in the model instructions before flying. Follow the aircraft’s preflight procedure and recommended operating conditions. Binding is one preparation step rather than a substitute for the full setup process.
Which model suits my experience and space?
Use the model’s recommended pilot experience and operating-space guidance. Compare aircraft dimensions and transport requirements before choosing. Trainers, scale aircraft, gliders and EDF jets can have different demands; a BNF label does not establish beginner suitability or make every aircraft compact.
How does BNF compare with other packages?
Compare our ready-to-fly RC planes, plug-and-play RC planes and almost-ready-to-fly RC planes for other package formats. Check the exact version’s contents, required equipment, current availability and replacement-part information before ordering.
