What is the best model train scale for beginners?
It’s the HO (1:87) scale. It’s considered ideal for beginners because it offers the perfect balance between great detail and space. It’s also available in an array of models, offers ease of use and manageable size much like the OO scale. However, if space is an issue in your home, you might consider the N (1:160) scale.
Do model trains need oil?
As the replicas of real-world trains, they do need regular oiling. It’s an essential step of the maintenance process, and ensures the longevity of the trains, specifically of the moving parts, given that it reduces the wear and tear.
How often should I lubricate my model train?
Any time you notice there’s any friction or squeaky noise. If you regularly use the train, apply the specialised lubricant after several hours of use. For casual running, oil it each time you use the train. Remember to always clean out the old lubricant first with a clean, lint-free cloth before applying the new coat.
