Take a peek at Hobbytech Toys' collection of RC cars and explore what you can build, drive and tune. Tackle off-road trails with buggies and monster trucks, crawl over rocks with trail trucks, or carve clean lines on tarmac with on-road cars. You’ll also find scale trucks and trailers for hauling loads, and build kits for drivers who like to assemble and upgrade their own rigs. Choose a ready-to-run car to hit the track sooner, or start with a build kit and make every part your own.
How does an RC car work?
RC cars use a handheld transmitter to send signals to a receiver inside the car. That receiver tells the motor how fast to spin and the steering servo which way to turn. The motor drives the wheels through gears and axles, giving you control over speed and direction.
Do RC cars need batteries?
Yes, most RC cars run on rechargeable batteries. These power the motor, the steering servo and the onboard receiver. Bigger batteries usually give you longer run times and a bit more power, but they also take longer to charge.
How fast do RC cars go?
It depends on the type of car. Rock crawlers are built for torque, not speed, and top out around 15–30 km/h. Buggies and monster trucks can hit 50–80 km/h on the right surface, and purpose-built drag cars can reach 100 km/h in short bursts.
How long does an RC car run on one charge?
Most hobby-grade RC cars run for 20 to 45 minutes on a single charge, depending on your driving style and battery size. Race-tuned models running at full throttle might drain a pack in 15 minutes, while crawlers driving slow and steady can last longer.
