Choosing an RC servo
Browse RC servos for model cars and aircraft at Hobbytech Toys. The range includes micro, standard-size and specialist servos from brands such as Hitec, Savox, Futaba and EcoPower. Choose for your model and installation requirements, then check the individual product specifications and availability.
Check fit, voltage and control compatibility
Compare the servo dimensions, mounting points and output spline with your existing installation. Confirm the permitted operating voltage and control requirements against your receiver, power supply and model manual. A servo described as high voltage is not a guarantee that every power setup is suitable.
Compare torque and speed at the same voltage
Use the manufacturer specifications to compare torque and movement speed at the voltage you intend to use. Choose ratings appropriate to the steering or control-surface load. Digital, metal-gear and brushless labels describe features; they do not replace checking the actual ratings and fit.
Match specialist features to the application
Low-profile, slim-wing, micro and model-specific replacement servos serve different installations. Check any waterproof rating and manufacturer usage limits before use around water. Do not assume a waterproof servo makes the rest of the model waterproof.
Servo accessories and installation
Check whether you also need a compatible servo horn or servo lead or extension. Match the horn spline, mounting hardware and lead length to the servo and model. Follow the model instructions for setup, direction and travel limits.
RC servo buying questions
Will any standard-size servo fit my model?
Size alone is not enough. Check mounting dimensions, spline, operating voltage, control compatibility and the model manufacturer requirements before ordering.
Is a digital servo always faster or stronger?
Compare the actual torque and speed specifications of the models under consideration. The digital label alone does not establish which servo is faster or stronger.
Can I buy a direct replacement?
Where a product names a particular model, compare its part number and compatibility details with your manual. If you are unsure, contact Hobbytech Toys with your model and existing servo details before purchasing.
