The model has a 3-stage alternating lift that hands the marbles back and forth as they climb to the top to embark on their amusement park adventures. Which marble will take which track, and which will make it down first? The Marble Run Stepped Hoist features a 3-marble accumulator in which the third ball opens the gates for the trapped first and second marbles, sending all three along their divergent paths. There are three tracks: the first consists of a 2-marble accumulator and serpentine run, the second is a hammer swing inside a C-shaped cradle, and the third has a whirlpool or funnel. All marbles eventually pass through the collection tray and into the seesaw lift. A rocker switch mechanism either sends the marbles back along the return track to the 3-stepped lift, or (and this is where it gets really exciting!) into another attached Ugears marble run.
We have designed the Ugears line of marble runs to be modular, that is, each model works as a standalone, or it can be connected frontally or laterally to other Ugears marble runs of the same or different design (2 or 4 models can be connected, in pairs, using the special connectors included in the kit). The rocker mechanism at the end of the run can send marbles in one direction or the other, or in both directions (depending on the attached weight), returning marbles to the original hoist or sending them to a different marble run. With adjoining marble runs you now have an amazing, complex system of interconnected elements, all powered by a single crank. It's like a miniature amusement park! Keep an eye on your favourite marble—who knows where it will end up, when it will return to its starting point, or what rides it will take along the way!
The Ugears Marble Run Stepped Hoist is an exciting combination of art and engineering. It is both a beautiful kinetic sculpture and an intricate toy that teaches as it entertains. As you build this ingenious wooden marble run, you will learn about the interplay of drive gears and driven gears and the function of counterweights. Turn the crank handle clockwise to set the machine in motion, and prepare to be mesmerized as the alternating stepped ladder collects, lifts, and passes the marbles back and forth until they reach the top of the machine to start their runs. Ugears marble runs are strong. Rigidity in the structure is achieved through a strong base and tightened frame parts. A muscular gear drive delivers power to both lifts: the main 3-stepped alternating lift and the auxiliary seesaw lift.

Our policy lasts 30 days. If 30 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately we can’t offer you a return, refund or exchange.
To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging.
All returns are subject to a 15% restocking and admin fee.

Warranty/ Faulty Items: Refund or Exchange
If you are having trouble with any of your purchases, and suspect it could be a warranty issue, then please email or phone us to go through your item's history of use and background. We are very reasonable when it comes to faults, and will try and resolve any concerns you have as quickly and painlessly as possible.
Each product is covered by the respective manufacturers warranty policy and some products may have individual components that are covered by separate warranties and time frames. We do not offer any additional product warranties outside the manufacturer’s warranty.
Please discuss any warranty concerns with us before sending the items back to avoid any confusion and unnecessary costs. We will generally require you to send photos of the product with your purchase details for an initial assessment and we will go from there.
Postage costs will be at the returner’s expense and refunded if the product is proven to be covered by warranty.
If the product is required to be sent back to our suppliers for assessment, we will cover this cost.
We will always try to resolve any warranty concerns as quickly as possible, where any delay is incurred we will communicate this to you.
- A warranty refers to any new product which has a manufacturing defect or a major failure within a reasonable period.
- If the warranty relates to a minor failure then we may replace, repair or refund the item.
- On assessment if the product is deemed as having a major failure, the customer can decide whether they would like a replacement, repair or refund.
- A warranty does not apply to any wear and tear on a product, crash damage or a product being used outside it’s intended use.

The cost of shipping is determined as follows:

We have several checks in place to make sure you get the items that you are after and they reach you in good order. If for some reason you didn’t receive the item you ordered, it’s damaged or simply not what you expected then please let us know within 7 days of receiving so we can organize an exchange or refund, whichever you prefer! For items damaged in transit a picture of the packaging will be required.
If the mistake was made at our end, we will happily pay the return postage.
If no one is around when delivery is attempted, a delivery slip with contact information will be left for you to arrange a re-delivery (charges may apply).
