This is the ESU 59941 LokPilot 5 Micro DCC Decoder - Direct Kato USA Widebody
The LokPilot 5 micro DCC Direct Kato USA Widebody is the “twin” of the LokSound 5 micro DCC Direct Kato USA Widebody. With its dimensions of 47.5mm x 14.0mm x 4.5mm it has been specially developed for installation in wide body N gauge locomotives of the Kato USA brand: Most diesel locomotives of this manufacturer come with only a common DC lighting board. Finally, these models can also be easily retrofitted with a LokPilot 5 Decoder.
Modes
The LokPilot 5 micro DCC Direct Kato USA Widebody is a "pure-bred" DCC decoder. 14 to 128 speed steps are as natural as 2- and 4-digit addresses. Up to 32 functions can be triggered. Thanks to RailComPlus®, the decoders log on to a suitable DCC System fully automatically.
It masters all DCC programming command stations. Auxiliary registers exist for DCC systems that can only program CVs from 1-255.
The LokPilot 5 micro DCC Direct Kato USA Widebody decoder recognizes the Märklin® braking sections as well as ZIMO® HLU / ZACK commands or the Lenz® ABC system. Braking with DCC brake modules or with DC voltage is also possible. It also stops with a Selectrix® brake diode. An ABC automatic shuttle train enables automatic commuting between two stations.
The LokPilot 5 micro DCC Direct Kato USA Widebody decoder can be used on analog DC trains. The maximum speed can be set separately. The decoder switches between the operating modes fully automatically "on-the-fly".
Functions
Despite its compact dimensions, the LokPilot 5 micro DCC Direct Kato USA Widebody is equipped with an enormous number of function outputs. Two DIP LEDs (included in the box) can be adjusted in length and soldered in directly and controlled separately. In addition, eight (!) more powered function outputs are available. All important lighting functions are available. The brightness of each output can be set separately.
Motor
The motor control of the LokPilot 5 micro DCC Direct Kato USA Widebody has a variable PWM pulse frequency from 10kHz to 50kHz, which ensures super-quiet operation, especially for coreless motors – the typical "hum" is a thing of the past. Load control can be adjusted with up to 10 separate CVs and thus will manage even the most difficult cases. The unique “Auto Tune” function facilitates the automatic calibration of the decoder to perfectly match the motor. The LokPilot 5 micro DCC Direct Kato USA Widebody Decoder delivers up to 0.75A motor power.
Protection
Of course, the outputs are protected against overload. We want you to enjoy your decoder for as long as possible.

Our policy lasts 30 days. If 30 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately we can’t offer you a return, refund or exchange.
To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging.
All returns are subject to a 15% restocking and admin fee.

Warranty/ Faulty Items: Refund or Exchange
If you are having trouble with any of your purchases, and suspect it could be a warranty issue, then please email or phone us to go through your item's history of use and background. We are very reasonable when it comes to faults, and will try and resolve any concerns you have as quickly and painlessly as possible.
Each product is covered by the respective manufacturers warranty policy and some products may have individual components that are covered by separate warranties and time frames. We do not offer any additional product warranties outside the manufacturer’s warranty.
Please discuss any warranty concerns with us before sending the items back to avoid any confusion and unnecessary costs. We will generally require you to send photos of the product with your purchase details for an initial assessment and we will go from there.
Postage costs will be at the returner’s expense and refunded if the product is proven to be covered by warranty.
If the product is required to be sent back to our suppliers for assessment, we will cover this cost.
We will always try to resolve any warranty concerns as quickly as possible, where any delay is incurred we will communicate this to you.
- A warranty refers to any new product which has a manufacturing defect or a major failure within a reasonable period.
- If the warranty relates to a minor failure then we may replace, repair or refund the item.
- On assessment if the product is deemed as having a major failure, the customer can decide whether they would like a replacement, repair or refund.
- A warranty does not apply to any wear and tear on a product, crash damage or a product being used outside it’s intended use.

The cost of shipping is determined as follows:
- Shipping cost will be automatically calculated on checkout.
- Orders will be shipped via Australia Post or Team Global Express.
- No deliveries will be done outside of Australia.

We have several checks in place to make sure you get the items that you are after and they reach you in good order. If for some reason you didn’t receive the item you ordered, it’s damaged or simply not what you expected then please let us know within 7 days of receiving so we can organize an exchange or refund, whichever you prefer! For items damaged in transit a picture of the packaging will be required.
If the mistake was made at our end, we will happily pay the return postage.
If no one is around when delivery is attempted, a delivery slip with contact information will be left for you to arrange a re-delivery (charges may apply).
